Plant on blue tinted mixed media paper Neocolor II: Scarlet + Ochre, plus neutrals

A painting made with Neocolor II water-soluble pastels. A single sunflower against a blue background. It faces to the right. Its many yellow petals shift to deep reddish orange as they near the centre of the flower. Part way down its thick dusty green stem is one large, slightly curled leaf.
